Hide what shouldn't be shared — before you share it.
Nixel finds API keys, passwords, card numbers, emails and personal details on
any page and covers them up. Then you screen-share, screenshot or record
without thinking about it.

Hello Vlad Morozov, your statement is attached.
A copy went to v.morozov@fastmail.com and we
will call +7 916 402 55 18 if anything needs
your attention.
Press any mask to look under it. The original never leaves the page.
Everything happens on your device
This is the part that matters. Nixel does not send the pages you visit
anywhere, because there is nowhere to send them — there is no server behind
this product. Detection runs inside your browser, in your own machine's memory.
That is not a promise about how carefully we handle your data. It is a
statement that we never receive it.
What it finds
- API keys, access tokens and AWS credentials
- Card numbers, verified against a checksum and an issuer prefix
- Email addresses and phone numbers
- Internal hostnames and private IP addresses
- People's names, addresses and organisations — using a language model that
also runs on your device
The popup tells you what it found, and one tap stops it hiding any kind you
don't care about.
Also does screenshots
Capture the visible page and Nixel opens an editor with every finding already
covered. Toggle any of them, pick how a mask looks, then copy or save a PNG
that is safe to send.
Privacy policy
Last updated: 20 August 2026
Nixel is a browser extension published by SD Software LLC (Armenia).
This policy describes exactly what the extension does with data. It is short
because the extension does very little.
What we collect
Nothing. We operate no servers and receive no data from the extension.
We cannot see the pages you visit, what Nixel found on them, or that you use it
at all. There is no analytics, no telemetry and no crash reporting.
What stays on your device
- Page content. Read in your browser to find sensitive text, and
never transmitted. It is not written to disk or kept after the page closes.
- Your settings. Which kinds to hide, how masks look, which sites are
switched off. Stored locally by your browser.
- Screenshots. A capture is held in your browser's temporary storage
only while the editor is open, and is deleted when you close it.
Network requests the extension makes
Two, and only these:
Downloading the detection model — once
The optional on-device language model (about 100 MB) is downloaded from the
Hugging Face CDN the first time you enable it, then cached and used offline.
This request contains no information about you or the pages you visit. You
can decline it, remove the model at any time, and the rest of the extension
keeps working.
Checking a Pro licence — if you buy one
Paid users' extensions periodically confirm a licence key with our payment
provider. The request contains the licence key and a device label. It never
contains page content, and free users' extensions never make it.
Permissions, and why
- activeTab / scripting — to read and mask the page you are looking at.
- storage — to remember your settings.
- offscreen — to run the detection model without slowing the page down.
Payments
If you buy Pro, the transaction is handled by our payment provider, who acts
as merchant of record and collects the billing details needed to process it
under their own privacy policy. We never see or store your card details.
Children
Nixel is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
